Blair's Visit and Indy 500

It's getting late so I'll let the pictures do most of the talking if that's OK! We've been entrenched in a flurry of last-minute errands and details and trying our best to get organized. Packing an apartment you've been in for 3 months is MUCH easier than packing a house you lived in for 3 and a half years, thank goodness! Jude likes to unpack almost as fast as we pack, which makes for some interesting times. He does a good job of flinging clothes and books around the room, scattering stacks we've made, and hanging from our pants legs while we get ready to move. Luckily, trash is probably his favorite thing to play with, so he busies himself in a corner if we set him in a pile of packaging or broken pens. I have no idea why we bother with real toys.

Aunt Blair came to town the weekend before last. She got to hang out with Jude a lot (and his mom a little) and I have to say, Jude had stars in his eyes the whole time she was here:) Very flirty and very fond of Blair, that's for sure! This isn't the greatest pic with the lighting, but check out Jude Hammy trying desperately to put his arm around her Joey Tribiani-style ("how YOU doin'?)

We all went to the Broad Ripple Art Fair, which I love. I never buy anything except kettle corn, but it's so fun to wander around and look, and just a great excuse to be outside.

Then Ted very kindly babysat while Blair and I went out for dinner and drinks. We caught up on each other's lives and aahhhhhh....it was so nice:)

Then this past weekend was Race weekend. Our friends Dan and Bethan came up for it, and we grilled out Saturday and Ted got in a game or two of cornhole, with Jude firmly attached. (he's actually too large for the Bjorn, but its just so darn convenient)

Our friend Eric had extra tickets to the race (thanks Eric!), and Gramp and Thom agreed to babysit all day so we could go! We had such a great time, and it was definitely a different experience from last year, when I was days away from having Jude!

We ventured out of our seats at one point, into the infamous "infield" to see our friends Dan and Bethan...its quite a scene...some groups had way too much fun and were just done. I pretended to be done along with some strangers. I think one girl noticed.

And finally, a few shots of Jude and his BFF Thomas, celebrating 1-year old style at Thomas' birthday party, and playing over the past couple weeks. Hope you all enjoyed a relaxing long weekend!
