Memorial Day weekend

My parents came in town for the long weekend! They came in Saturday and we had a delicious dinner at Fogo de Chao, a new Brazilian steakhouse here. I've been hearing great things about it, and it did not disappoint! We went with Dick and Sally and ate more than I believed any group of people could eat at one time. The salad bar was amazing in itself, but the meat is what you really go for. Each person gets a disk--red on one side, green on the other. When you flip your disk to green, a million Brazilian guys come running to your side to carve meat off a spit onto your plate, almost any kind of meat you can think of. Ted accidentally left his card on "green" for a bit and we couldn't figure out why we couldn't have a conversation without being interrupted 20 times...although its hard to complain about that! Ted actually ate my dad under the table, it was amazing. I seriously don't know how all 4 of us fit into the "cute little Prius" afterwards, groaning happily all the way home....I highly recommend it to anyone, particularly pregnant women with an appetite ;)
On Sunday we took my parents to their very first Indy 500 race, and honestly had a great time. I was a little skeptical about going in my "delicate condition" but the nice weather and great company proved me wrong! We had good seats and got to see a couple of good wrecks (I know that's mean and kind of an oxymoron, but you know what I mean...) The baby behaved and didn't freak out at the noise, either. I got a couple of comments from strangers about how they/their wives went to the race pregnant and their babies kicked the whole time, and were "born race fans"....not really sure that's my wildest dream for the Peanut, but those parents said it with such triumph that I rubbed my belly and said "sure hope so!" anyway:)
Bryce and Thom and their friend came over to grill out afterwards, and we slept in this morning pretty late for the first time in forever. Even our cat Jack slept in. My parents headed home after lunch, but I guess they'll be back up in a few weeks for an even bigger spectacle! Right now I'm trying to wrap my head around the wonderful thought that I'm not going to work tomorrow, or the next day, or a very long time...I think this week I'll feel like the kid in Home Alone, who runs around and eats ice cream (sugar-free) and jumps on the bed at first, but then reality settles in and he feels weird after a while. I have a lot planned this week that I really need/want to get done around the house, and I really can't wait to get started. My energy level is decent right now, so I'll take advantage of that while I can. In the meantime, if anyone is available on a weekday and wants a lunch date or a babysitter or someone to an errand run for them, I'm your woman for a couple of weeks so call me! I'm happy to take a break from nesting and hang out :)
